Revlon Lip Butters - at long last

I have wanted these since I first saw them blogged about and the waiting has felt like ages, so worth it though!

Looking at previous blog posts I wasn't sure if Candy Apple or Cherry Pie would be my best bet, as it was Boots only had Candy Apple so I had no choice.  I decided to go all out and get Tutti Fruitti too, have a fancy for a nice bright orange and then I hemmed and hawed for ages and opted for Raspberry Pink although wasn't sure at all that it would be a colour I would wear.

Candy Apple, Tutti Fruitti and Raspberry Pie - seriously is there anything nicer than a brand new lippy? Three maybe!

Was so excited had to do an immediate swatchathon!  Top pic is Candy Apple, middle is Raspberry Pie and finally Tutti Fruitti.  I have to say I think Raspberry Pie might be a surprise fave.  Not entirely sure that Tutti Fruitti is working on me, but you know who it does look fab on???
I should have said - this is Emily, she gets her looks from me, obvs!
Bloody typical!

I am guessing everyone that got to Boots today came away with a handful, enabled as we all were by the 3 for 2 offer and quite possibly the extra bonus of £2 off Revlon with the latest Advantage card mailer.  So come on, share, which ones did you get?

  1. Doh! Advantage card mail is on the table - didn't register - I only went in to spend my No7s never expected to walk away with 3 of these. Lots of lovely pinks in the range and I couldn't resist. x

  2. Raspberry Pie on you is my favourite. Oh thanks for the pic of your beautiful daughter although I'm never going out with you two, I'd look like one of the ugly step sisters from Cinderella!

    1. Nonsense, she is gorgeous admittedly but it takes an hours worth of gurning for me to get a photo that I can safely use on the blog without having to issue a "graphic content" warning. And I have seen your wedding pics, you are very pretty. x

  3. Funny enough I like Tutti Frutti best on you! It's also gorgeous on Emily (love her hair!) though looks lighter on her.

Can't believe how pigmented these are - and that I haven't got any yet!!!! *weeps*

    1. The lighter colours are less pigmented, the darker ones more so - Raspberry Pie is very pigmented and less glossy than the other 2. I am definitely going to be adding to my collection as the other colours appear in my Boots! x

  4. I haven't tried any of these yet, think I'm a bit late to the party with the lip butters. I love the raspberry pie colour, I don't think for a minute I could wear the Tutti Frutti but it really suits you and Emily :) Jude xx @jadlgw

    1. I think Tutti Frutti - ha that I now realise I have spelt wrongly througout the entire post! - is best on me if I use a very light hand, just a slick is enough its sheer so the gloss works without too much shouty ORANGE! happening, it looks lovely on Em applied a bit more heavily. xx

  5. Those are really nice. The term "lip butter" had me thinking they were very sheer, more like a gloss. After years as a gloss addict, I'm migrating slowly back to lipsticks. Do you think these would qualify as that?

  7. Meant to ask, are you finding these very dry on the lips? I got the chance to try some this weekend and for a so-called "butter", I found them very drying. I wouldn't be able to wear one without a balm under it first.

    1. Hi Ali, no quite the opposite if anything, my lips seem to like these and they don't seem dried out by them. That said if you are keen on the darker shades they are more opaque than the lighter ones so putting a balm under them would probably sheer them out nicely.

Would love to hear from you, I always read comments and reply and I love not feeling like I am talking to myself! dx
